Colorado Columbine School Violence

Dear Editor:

When social disaster occurs, like the Colorado school massacre, to whom can a secular nation turn?

Our society has studiously excluded God from its daily life and ridiculed the sacred things of God. Now it can only wring its hands; call for more secular counselors; appoint another government commission to investigate the situation; throw another billion dollars at it and never understand why some kids of their secular society behave like barbarians.

Christians, who believe in the living God and strive to order their lives by his precepts, call upon him for comfort, strength to endure the pain and help to overcome the evil. In his Holy Scripture, they find reasonable answers to such vexing problems of human behavior.

Should our society survive the imminent internal collapse that threatens, it, we will have to return to those moral and spiritual truths and values that were espoused by our founding fathers.

The panacea for our societal illness may seem old-fashioned and trite to the secularists, but the fact is it has worked to ameliorate numerous societies whose decadence was equal to or worse than ours.

As King David put it, "Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah."
