What About Our Rights ?

Dear Editor:

The issue of the day is not whether homosexuals shall be free to pursue their chosen lifestyle? Or if they shall be free to hold jobs and live in communities without being hassled for their sexual preferences? The question is shall the majority population, whose religious convictions hold that such behavior is unnatural and immoral shall be forced to accept it as normal and to allow those who follow that lifestyle unrestricted access to their religious, social and family circles?

Virtually every day the news carries yet another story of "gay issues" being forced upon churches, families and social organizations.

Today it is, "Big Brothers/Big Sisters to support gay mentors."
A month ago another state punished the Boy Scouts for not yielding to the demands of the gays.
Yesterday it was a bill in the California State Assembly that would force all employers, including churches and Christian schools to provide same sex partner benefits to employees.
Another bill in that state would for foster parents to teach their foster children that a gay lifestyle is acceptable.
In Florida it is gay adoption. Nearly every major Protestant church is currently under siege by gay activists.
The Catholic church finds it has a large "homosexual subculture." That subculture has played a significant role in the scandals that have done major damage to that church.
Having found a welcomed seat on the civil-rights juggernaut these determined activists, supported by the liberal political establishment and media have gotten the taste of blood and are moving in for the kill. It is no longer a question of "minority rights," it is a question of "majority rights."

Shall the moral standards and religious convictions of millions of Americans be sacrificed and trampled underfoot, in the name of pacifying a militant gay subculture? Do only minorities have rights? We are now the disposed majority.

Is there anyone, any organization that will stand up to defend and insist upon the rights of the millions who cannot subscribe to the demands of the gays?
