Upset by China's Action
Dear Editor:
I can't understand why those whose political world view tilts to the left are so upset about China's handling of our spy-plane incident. The leaders of China are behaving the way they have always behaved.
China is ruled by a Communist dictatorship. They persecute noncompliant religious folks; they execute, harvest and sell the organs of thousands of criminals; they force unwanted abortions on unwilling mothers; they arrest, harass and imprison dissidents; they continually breath threats of war and destruction against Taiwan; they spy on our nation and attempt to influence our elections with their agents and money; they flood our markets, but keep most of theirs closed to our exporters; they are arming themselves for military action far beyond their national borders.
Past US administrations have pacified them, stroked them, turn their heads so as not to see the blatant violations of civil rights and human decency, given them favored nation trading status, allowed them access to our highest officials, yielded to their belligerent demands and pretended they were nice guys. Now folks are upset that China is about her usual business.
The fact is China is not a democracy. She is not a nation to be trusted. She has no interest in fairness and respect in dealing with others. She is a bully that has shrewdly assessed us as a paper tiger and is treating us that way.
To our liberal friends, I am sorry that China has rained on your parade.
