Did Jesus Drive The Money Changers Out Once Or Twice?

How many times did Jesus drive the money changers out of the temple?

Dear Dan:
The cleansing of the temple in John 2:14 seems to have occurred near the beginning of Jesus' ministry. The similar event recorded in Matt.21:12 and Mark 11:15-18 seems to have occurred near the end of his ministry. A careful reading will show that the Matthew and Mark describe the details what happened differently then John. Several commentators concluded this to mean there were two separate events in which he drove the money-changers out of the temple. In so doing the Master asserted his claim to be Lord of the temple.
