Will God Accept Someone as Bad as Me?
Dear Sir:
I have been very wicked in my life. I have tried to change my ways. I would like very much to be a Christian. Will God accept someone as bad as I have been?
- LB
Dear LB:
The answer to your question is YES. The apostle Paul wrote, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief... that in me as chief might Jesus Christ show forth all his long-suffering, for an ensample of them that should thereafter believe on him unto eternal life" (I Timothy 2:15-16).
Paul had persecuted Christ's people, even encouraged and participated in the murder of Stephen (Acts 7:57-8:1). If you will put you faith in the Lord Jesus (John 3:16), repent and be baptized in his name, he will gladly give you remission of all your sins and give you the gift of his Holy Spirit to bless, comfort and strengthen you (Acts 2:38). Don't doubt this wonderful offer. Accept God at his word, embrace the Savior and claim the promises he has made to you.
